"The fight against global warming will shape the 21st century. Colleges and universities must exercise leadership in their communities and throughout society by modeling ways to eliminate global warming emissions, and by providing the knowledge and the educated graduates to achieve climate neutrality. Campuses that address the climate challenge by eliminating global warming emissions and by integrating sustainability into their curriculum will better serve their students and meet their social mandate to help create a thriving, ethical and civil society. We hope you will join us in supporting the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment.
Sincerely, The Signatories of the Americal College & University Presidents Climate Commitment"

I attended this meeting yesterday, and there seemed to be unanimity among those present that Cabrillo should move forward and sign the Commitment. This item will go before the Board of Trustees on the first Monday of May. Let's all show up to the meeting and endorse the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment! More on this later.
National Geographic published two great articles in October 2007: one titled Carbon's New Math, the other titled Green Dreams. Carbon's New Math gives great background information about global warming, and what types of efforts are needed and goals what goals need to be met to begin decreasing our CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions.
Carbon's New Math
Green Dreams is about biofuels.
Green Dreams
I don't know how long the links will be good for but you can still view (as of today,) the articles for free online.
